Featured Pet

He appears to be a discerning and distinguished gentleman cat, regal in demeanor. Actually this nine-year-old lilac-point Siamese/Himalayan is named Bud, and he misses watching Wheel of Fortune as he used to, perched on the couch with his previous owner. When the owner entered a nursing home, the family was not able to keep Bud, and so surrendered him to the Door County Humane Society in June.

Bud is good with other cats of his temperament – calm, sedate and polite. He draws the line at dealing with dogs. Bud is declawed (all four), neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped. The cat adoption fee is $90.

The Door County Humane Society, located at 3475 Park Drive (County PD – the road to Potawatomi State Park), Sturgeon Bay, is open for adoption Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from noon – 4 pm. For more information call 920.746.1111 or visit dooranimals.com.

“Surfin’ for the Shelter” takes place Aug. 1 at Harbor View Park in Egg Harbor. Tickets are $75 each. Call 920.746.1111 or email [email protected] to make a reservation.
