Featured Pet: Burton

Hi, my name is Burton. You may have seen me before because I recently became a celebrity! On Dec. 14 I appeared on WBAY Channel 2 News with Communications Coordinator April promoting the Door County Humane Society’s Home for the Holidays event. If my great looks on TV didn’t fully win you over, allow me to tell you a little bit about myself. I’m a one-year-and-seven-months-old male feline with a very handsome black and white coat. When I was brought into the Door County Humane Society (DCHS) as a stray more than a year ago it was easy to see that I was not eating properly and was in poor shape. I had red itchy skin and had lost a lot of my hair. Once in the care of DCHS I was brought back to health and now I am my happy and healthy self. My personality is laid back, fun loving and very affectionate. I enjoy cuddling and falling asleep in people’s laps. I also am known here at DCHS as being the “cat groomer,” since I love making sure that other cats look their best. These days I am actively searching for a loving family to call my own. Since I have been at the shelter for more than a year I think it is high time I go home. So what do you say? Can I become the newest member of your family during this holiday season?

The Door County Humane Society, located at 3475 County PD in Sturgeon Bay, is open Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4 pm. For more information call 920.746.1111 or visit doorcountyhumanesociety.org.

Have you heard the news? DCHS is having a Home for the Holidays event. During the entire month of December all cats are free! Just fill out an application via fax or online to become approved to adopt!
