Featured Pet: Cheryl

Every once in a while an animal walks through the doors at the Door County Humane Society (DCHS) with a truly complex story. A few years ago a feline named Cheryl came into DCHS as a stray. A woman looking for a second cat visited the shelter and fell in love with her. This lovely women then spent the next seven months saving for Cheryl’s adoption fee and often came to DCHS to visit her. Finally the day arrived when this dynamic duo could go home together. Sadly after a few years passed, Cheryl’s owner had to move to a new residence that only allowed one cat. She did the honorable thing and kept the cat that she had the longest, and with a heavy heart returned Cheryl to DCHS. That was a long year and a half ago. While her previous owner still comes in to visit her, Cheryl has patiently been waiting for her new forever home. She is 11-and-a-half years old and has a unique white, orange and gray coat. With time she is able to adjust to other cats and loves receiving TLC from humans. Cheryl is truly a special girl that has spent far too much time in the shelter environment. So be a hero and adopt Cheryl today.
