Featured Pet: Fred and Ethel

The Door County Humane Society (DCHS) would like to introduce you to Fred and Ethel. Unlike the loud, nagging and fame-hungry couple we all know and love from the I Love Lucy show, these two have a different story. Fred and Ethel were abandoned and then brought to DCHS in September 2016. Instead of being loud and full of life like the characters on the show, Fred and Ethel are both very shy and reserved. Fred is a 12-year-old black and brown tabby with large green eyes and Ethel is a medium-sized orange feline with green eyes.

Since these two have been together for such a long time, DCHS would like them to go together to their new loving home. Currently Fred and Ethel are not doing well in the shelter environment and spend most of the day hiding in their cubbies. Once they get to know someone they enjoy attention but still are tentative to come out of their shells. Once any animal is taken out of the shelter environment it is remarkable how much their personalities can change. The DCHS cat staff believes Fred and Ethel are no exception to this rule and with the right family and time they will be much more social and outgoing. Please give this couple a chance because with time and love they just might develop the energy and zest of the characters Fred and Ethel.
