Featured Pet: Nona

Nona is a distinguished six-and-a-half year old feline. This little lady has a stunning coat of light orange fur with small accents of white. Nona has been at Door County Humane Society (DCHS) for the past year and a half and is eagerly waiting for a home to call her own. When she first arrived at DCHS she came in with 17 of her closest feline friends. All of Nona’s friends have since been adopted; she is the only one still waiting for a family to fall in love with her. Nona is a bit on the shy side at first, but once she gets to know you, she is very warm and affectionate. So please come and visit this beautiful girl today.

The Door County Humane Society, located at 3475 County PD in Sturgeon Bay, is open 12 – 6 pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday; and 12 – 4 pm Saturday. For more information call 920.746.1111 or visit

The Door County Humane Society is collecting new or gently used shoes for needy persons living in developing countries. The shelter is partnering with the Funds2Orgs agency, which will give DCHS $0.40 for every pair of shoes collected. It’s a win-win for everyone! Drop-off boxes are located at DCHS, ERA Starr Realty, WDOR, and the Nicolet Bank branches in Sturgeon Bay, Egg Harbor, Fish Creek, and Sister Bay. The shoe drive ends Nov. 12.
