Hi, my name is Ophelia. I was surrendered to the Door County Humane Society (DCHS) in March of 2014 when my previous owner developed allergies. I am famous here at DCHS for my unique orange and black coat and my mesmerizing green eyes. I used to be an outdoor cat, and the truth is that I am still extremely shy around humans. But I’ve got potential – I was purring and kneading for one of DCHS’s volunteers just the other day and everyone was very excited about this breakthrough! What I really need is a quiet home with a loving family who will be gentle with me and let me come out of my shell in my own time. I may hide in a cubby or under the bed for quite a while, but deep down I want to come out, relax with you, and enjoy your love and affection. So if you want a beautiful, quiet cat and have lots of gentle patience, please come to meet me – we might be the perfect match!
The Door County Humane Society, located at 3475 County PD in Sturgeon Bay, is open Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4 pm. For more information call 920.746.1111 or visit doorcountyhumanesociety.org.
Have you heard the news? DCHS is having a Home for the Holidays event. During the entire month of December all cats are free! Just fill out an application via fax or online to become approved to adopt!
