Featured Pet: Pickle

Hi there, my name is Pickle. I am a beautiful girl with a black and white coat and am at the prime age of six years old. Some say I have many similarities to the fabulous Marilyn Monroe and I tend to agree. First, Marilyn and I both have a matching facial beauty mark. In many ways we also have similar stories. When I first came to the Door County Humane Society (DCHS) in April of 2015 I was known as a cuddly, big, beautiful diva that loved to receive as much attention as possible and enjoyed the spotlight. However, in the last few weeks DCHS staff members have seen a change in my personality. Similar to Marilyn the stress of challenging environments can take a toll on girls like us. Lately I sleep a lot more, am not as talkative, and when people open my cage I prefer to stay inside instead of exploring. I know with a loving family and home to call my own I would once again return to my outgoing and iconic self. So, if you want to take home a starlet like me please come and adopt me today.

The Door County Humane Society, located at 3475 County PD in Sturgeon Bay, is open 12 – 6 pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday; and 12 – 4 pm Saturday. For more information call 920.746.1111 or visit
