“Feed the Fish” Comes to DVD

Feed the Fish, the movie filmed primarily in Door County in the winter of 2009, will be available on DVD beginning Jan. 25.

The film has been honored at independent film festivals around the Midwest and enjoyed limited runs at theatres throughout the country.

Feed the Fish is about a burned-out children’s book author (Ross Partridge) who is brought by a friend to Wisconsin’s north woods to rediscover himself. Once there, he also discovers a girl (Katie Aselton) who also happens to be the daughter of the rough-hewn town sheriff, played by Tony Shalhoub (Wings, Monk). The film’s climactic scene includes a plunge into the icy waters of Jacksonport on New Year’s Day.

Among the familiar Door County sites in the film are the Viking Grill, Mink River Basin, Skyway drive-in movie theater and the Sister Bay Village Hall. Visit http://www.feedthefishmovie.com to find links to the film’s Netflix page and view trailers. Dozens of Door County residents can be seen on screen as extras and in small roles, and many more names appear in the films credits.

Copies of the DVD will be available locally at Passtimes Books in Sister Bay on Jan. 27, and at the Jacksonport Craft Cottage beginning Jan. 28.
