FHCA Executive Director Resigns

The Francis Hardy Center for the Arts (FHCA), a nonprofit arts organization in Ephraim, regretfully announced the resignation of Executive Director Jan Comstock. Exhibitions and Community Relations Director Elizabeth Meissner was named Interim Executive Director, effective July 1.

During Comstock’s tenure with the FHCA, she guided the transition of the organization from operating under the umbrella arts organization, the Peninsula Arts Association (PAA), as a for-profit gallery into a multi-faceted arts center. She was instrumental in connecting the arts to the community through the creation of creative and meaningful programs such as Art Camp, a program that benefits underprivileged children of migrant workers; Exposure to Creativity, a program aiming to connect high school aged youth to creative professionals in the community; and many others including the Door County Festival of the Arts, Art Studio Tours and Enrichment Series.

“Jan has served the FHCA admirably for the last eight years. Her commitment and passion to the organization and its mission has touched the lives of many. We thank her for her dedication and the outstanding programs that she has brought to the community and its visitors,” said Pam Lecy, President of the Board of Directors.

The Board will conduct a search to fill the executive director position.
