Final Eames Presentation Aug. 12

Giz Herbst of the Egg Harbor Historical Society will wrap up his program on Horace Franklin Eames – Egg Harbor’s medical doctor and surgeon from 1889 to 1937 – on Aug. 12, 3-4 pm, at Egg Harbor’s Kress Pavilion, 7845 Church St. Herbst will cover the doctor’s many contributions to Egg Harbor and Door County.

Eames was a member of more than 30 organizations and held leadership positions in many. Besides being a prominent physician, he was a leader in dairy farming and cherry and apple production, eventually building a farm of more than 600 acres. He also served as the director for rural education in the county, was involved in developing the county’s rural telephone system and was a proponent of Egg Harbor’s Advancement Association and a successful business owner.
