Final Exhibit at Bazyli Studio

Bazyli Studio Wearable Art Gallery in Baileys Harbor will host their final feature exhibit Wool And Fleece, with an opening Sept. 29, 4 – 7 pm.

The gallery, now in its third season, features the work of resident artists Skye and Peter Ciesla, along with selected artists Carter Smith, 5 Miles East Alpaca, Tatiana Palnitska, Mary Mendla and Ellen Gvora, Joan Kennedy, Ilze Heider and Pat Kroth.

This exhibit will feature one-of-a-kind knitted alpaca shawls, ponchos and stoles by 5 Miles East. The items are American made from the finest Alpaca fleece, hand-crafted by local knitters, weavers and felters. Five Miles East raise their own alpacas on their farm in Central Illinois, as well as source the highest quality fleece from other Midwestern alpaca farms.

There will also be the colorful and meticulous work of Joan Kennedy, a West Bend artist. She upcycles cashmere, merino and other wools and transforms the materials into true works of art – handbags, scarfs and hats. All are felted, hand-painted and dyed. Her fiber manipulation is exquisite.
