Final Grand Eloquence Concert Set for Sept. 2

David Perry and Sally Chisholm perform at a Midsummer’s Music concert.

Midsummer’s Music Festival will present six concerts in six days of brilliant chamber music at venues throughout Door County.

‘Three’s Company’ offers a trio of trios composed by Jan Ladislav Dussek, Ludwig van Beethoven and Felix Mendelssohn. The Beethoven and Mendelssohn trios are of the standard type for violin, cello, and piano but Dussek substitutes the flute for the violin. This program begins at 7:30 pm on August 30 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Sister Bay. There will be one afternoon concert of these works at The Clearing in Ellison Bay at 3 pm.

On Aug. 31 the Grand Eloquence concert featuring works by Gustav Mahler, Paul Shoenfield and César Franck will take place at the Ephraim Moravian Church at 7:30 pm. This program includes the popular Café Music.

Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for students and advance orders are recommended.

The final performance of the Grand Eloquence concert on Sept. 2 at 3 pm takes place at Ellison Bay Manor as a joint benefit with United Way of Door County and Midsummer’s Music. A very limited number of tickets remain for this event and they are $150.
