Final Lenten Concert Set for March 30

Musicales in Lent conclude March 30 at Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church in Ellison Bay. The church has been filled with music on two previous Sunday afternoons this month, when musicians of the church have presented programs reflective of the season as part of the church’s seventh annual Musicales in Lent series.

The third and final concert will be March 30 at 4 pm, when pianists Judith and Carl Jackson present a program designed to accompany the listeners’ Lenten journey. Music from a wide range of composers and styles – from Johann Sebastian Bach to Felix Mendelssohn to Joel Raney – will be played on two concert grand pianos by Judith and Carl, who have selected a program of music that embraces the themes of the Lenten season.

Since 2008, the musicians of Shepherd of the Bay have offered this annual series of Musicales in Lent, concerts around 30 to 40 minutes long, as opportunities for the community to gather and enjoy music appropriate to this season of year, when we experience the retreat of winter and anticipate the coming of spring, as the harbinger of life and renewal.

Shepherd of the Bay is located at 11836 Highway 42 in Ellison Bay. There is no admission charge. For more information call 920.854.2988 or visit
