Final Showings of Rogue’s “A Coupla White Chicks” Aug 18 – 20

August brings heat and laughter to the Rogue Theater stage with A Coupla White Chicks Sitting Around Talking, by John Ford Noonan. This was Rogue Theater’s debut show in November of 2013. That show starred Lola DeVillers, Rogue Theater co-artistic director, and Katie Lott.

The show takes place in suburban Westchester County, New York, in the kitchen of Maude Mix, who is having a tough day: her husband is off on a weekend spree with his secretary and she can’t get rid of the pesky neighbor who has just moved up from Texas. Hannah Mae badgers Mix into friendship and the two eventually join forces against their errant and erring husbands.

DeVillers stars as Maude Mix and Rachel Seizer as the pesky Hannah Mae Bindler. The show is directed by Stuart Champeau.

Devillers said, “I first played the character of Maude Mix in 2013 with Katie Lott as Hannah Mae, during the grand opening of The Depot Performing Arts Center. It was an exciting time, with a new theater, new role and wonderful friend. Our illustrious friendship began in 2000, when we taught first grade across the hall from each other at Sunset School in Sturgeon Bay. We shared books, ideas and creative projects, and began a friendship that has lasted 17 years, and counting. Although we are no longer teaching colleagues, and our lives have taken different paths, we remain friends.

Today I relive the character of Maude Mix with a new friend, Rachel Seizer. A young woman whose energy and spirit makes me come alive. She brings new life to Hannah Mae and a friendship that two women should always have.”

The final performances are scheduled for Aug. 18 – 20 at 7:30 pm Friday and Saturday, and 2 pm Sunday. Rogue Theater is located at 340 Jaycee Court in Sturgeon Bay. The show includes adult content. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students. For more information, call 920.818.0816 or find Rogue Theater on Facebook.
