Fincantieri, City Agree to Beautify Stretch of Third Avenue

The City of Sturgeon Bay and Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding have signed a memo of understanding that outlines expectations for a beautification plan along the shipbuilder’s property from 325 N. 3rd Ave. to Iowa Street. The city required Fincantieri to spruce up the area as part of the improvements the company is making to its waterfront property. 

Fincantieri is required to hire a consultant to develop the plan by July 2021; to show where, how and when specific areas will be improved; and to seek input from the city and the public. Fincantieri will pay for the whole project. The city intends to invest some money as well, but only to extend the beautification to areas outside the required project area.
