Sturgeon Bay Fine Art Fair is Full of Fun

Bring family and friends to Sunset Park May 28 and 29 and browse some of the best art in Door County and the Midwest. The 18th annual Sturgeon Bay Fine Art Fair will host more than 100 fine artists displaying and selling their original pieces of art in such forms as sculpture, glass, paintings, jewelry, fiber, photography and wood. The Fine Art Fair is open Saturday 10 am – 5 pm and Sunday 10 am – 4 pm. Admission to the fair is free.

Children of all ages – creative adults too – are encouraged to stop by the family activity area to make a craft or contribute to the 50-foot Fine Art Fair mural. Strolling entertainers will delight fairgoers with music, face painting and balloon animals. There will also be food, beer and wine vendors.

Fair visitors have a chance to vote for their favorite artist through the People’s Choice award. Voting slips will be handed out at the information tent; there’s only one vote per person. The award for People’s Choice will be announced Sunday at 3 pm.

Artists will be awarded with ribbons and cash prizes Saturday afternoon. Judges will review the artwork Saturday morning and ribbons will be awarded for Best of Show, first, second, third place and honorable mention for two-dimensional art, and first, second, third place and honorable mention for three-dimensional art.

Everyone has a chance to win a piece of fine art from one of the donating artists at the Fine Art Fair raffle tent. Raffle tickets are 1 for $5 or 3 for $10. Winners need not be present to win. Raffle winners will be drawn Sunday at 3 pm.

Volunteers are needed to staff a variety of areas. Shifts are typically two to three hours. To volunteer or for additional information, contact Brenda at 920.743.6246 or [email protected].
