Fine Art Festival, Legacy Artists at Waterfront Park

The Sister Bay Advancement Association (SBAA, sisterbay.com) will present its 19th annual Door County Festival of Fine Arts on Aug. 13, 9 am – 4 pm, at Waterfront Park, where more than 20 Wisconsin artists will show their work and demonstrate their talents.

Enter the free drawing for a chance to win a piece of art donated by festival artists, and visit the kids’ activity tent to create stained-glass art with Gary Chaudoir or purchase an art project to go.

A highlight will be the second annual Door County Legacy Artist Exhibit, held 10 am – 4 pm on festival day at the Sister Bay village hall. This collaboration between SBAA and the Miller Art Museum in Sturgeon Bay will feature 15 works by five Door County legacy artists who are among the earliest contributors to the museum’s collection.

The exhibit will include egg tempera works by museum founder Gerhard CF Miller, woodblock prints by former curator R. Charles Lyons, embossed prints by Ruth Wedgewood Phillipon, watercolors by Phil Austin, and examples of hand-drawn architectural designs by Winifred Boynton, created for the wood carvings that decorate the Boynton Chapel at Björklunden.
