Fine Line Designs Gallery Announces Artist Reception

Lamp by Paul Klein

Four artists with varied artistic mediums will join together for Fine Line Designs Gallery’s first opening reception of the year, Saturday, May 29 from 4 – 7 pm. Furniture artist Paul Klein, watercolorist William Murray, oil painter Colin Page, and wood sculptor Gene Reineking will be present to meet visitors and discuss their work. Klein and Page will also be part of a separate artist demonstration on Sunday, May 30 from 11 am – 2 pm.

Paul Klein’s structural lamps feature locally gathered wood, stone, and copper. Hailing from Central Wisconsin, Klein finds great inspiration in nature.

St. Paul-based artist William Murray once served in the Coast Guard on the Great Lakes and trapped lobster in Nova Scotia. These jobs have greatly influenced his watercolor work, which consist of many landscape and water scenes.

Oil painter Colin Page created the majority of his work outdoors, working from life to capture the essence of his subject matter. Page was selected as the People’s Choice Award winner at the 2009 Door County Plein Air Festival.

Sculpture artist Gene Reineking creates stylized birds and mammals using beautifully figured wood burls from America’s West. Reineking typically sculpts a signature piece for each year’s Fine Line show; this year will feature a golden eagle.

The artwork for Exhibit I will be on display through June 8.
