Fine Line Designs Gallery’s artist reception for Exhibit I will take place on Saturday, May 28 from 4 – 7 pm. Exhibit I features the work of watercolor painter Michael Ireland, oil painters Donna Sands and Kathie Wheeler, and sculptor Pete Zaluzec. An artist demonstration by Ireland will take place Sunday, May 29 from 11 am – 2 pm.
Ireland’s paintings are consistent in traditional watercolor techniques, and his production technique has yielded many works that go beyond the size and scope of typical watercolor paintings. “My goal is to create a piece that is as interesting up close as it is simple and strong from afar,” he said.
Sands’ collection features a variety of landscapes. “The joy of painting outdoors is what influenced my decision to paint landscapes,” said Sands. “I seek a place where I can’t hear man’s invasion.”
Living on a small farm in Wisconsin influenced Wheeler, who said, “All of my paintings are scenes from my own experiences.” She also works in pastels, watercolor, charcoal, pencil, and ink.
Zaluzec’s work represents life-size birds and other wildlife with a focus on the personality and expression of each species. He is debuting new pieces made of cast bronze as well as river stones from Wyoming and Montana.
The artwork for Exhibit I will be on display through Wednesday, June 8.
