Door County’s Fine Line Designs Gallery is proud to announce a special gallery reception gala, featuring the artwork of local artist Ram Rojas. The gala benefits the Door County Land Trust and is set for Saturday, June 28 from 5 – 8 pm.
The natural talent of Ram Rojas launched his career at an early age in Caracas, Venezuela, and he has traveled all over the world for the sake of his artwork. He studied extensively in Los Angeles before a publishing company took notice of his talent and took him to Europe to study classical art. He has also studied the fine techniques of oriental art in India. Rojas’s subjects range from beautiful classical oils to impeccably rendered watercolors. His patience and dedication to his art are obvious in his choice of tools, specifically the method of airbrushing. Through this medium, his delicate drawings and portraits confirm his patience and knowledge of natural beauty and technique.
For the last two decades, Rojas has continued his artistry in Door County, and has expanded his artistic subject matter to include watercolors and oils of Door County landscapes and important landmarks. His work is and has been on display at the St. Joseph’s Retreat Center Chapel and at the Link Gallery in the Door Community Auditorium.
The exhibition of Rojas’s artwork will be complemented with a performance by Swing Nouveau, Milwaukee’s premiere swing band. This 15-piece “big band” is sure to swing your socks off with danceable high-energy jump and swing tunes of the ‘30s, ‘40s, ‘50s, and 90s. Swing Nouveau has been drawing enthusiastic standing-room only crowds to top clubs throughout the Milwaukee area, and Fine Line Designs Gallery is pleased to be able to bring the sounds of this fantastic ensemble to Door County for an evening of art, music, and food. Hors de oeuvres for the evening will be catered by Alexander’s of Door County, with refreshments being donated by Main Street Market in Egg Harbor.
Tickets for the Land Trust Gala at Fine Line Designs Gallery are $50/person, with all of the proceeds benefiting the Door County Land Trust (DCLT). DCLT is a private, non-profit organization whose purpose is to permanently protect lands that contribute significantly to the scenic beauty, open space, and ecological integrity of Door County. Since 1986, the Door County Land Trust has worked to preserve over 3,000 acres of fields, forests, farmland, wetland, and shoreline throughout Door County.
