Ephraim’s Fine Line Designs Gallery will officially open for the 2010 season on Friday, April 30, and is also pleased to announce the 2010 exhibits and events.

Fine Line has added several artists encompassing all varieties of mediums for the 2010 season, including plein air landscape artist Terrill Knaack, oil painter Gail Macejkovic, glass artist Steven Main, furniture builders Tom Dumke and Steve Uren, fiber artist Julie Crabtree, wood artist Gary Hubbard, and jewelry designers Daphne Olive and Sue Savage.

The gallery’s first of four artists exhibits will open on Friday, May 1 and will feature the works of Paul Klein, William Murray, Colin Page, and Gene Reineking. Central Wisconsin artist Paul Klein creates his sculptural furniture items by combining many elements such as stone, copper, and his own handmade paper. He also enjoys finding objects in nature and incorporating them into his designs. St. Paul-based artist William Murray served in the Coast Guard on the Great Lakes and trapped lobster in Nova Scotia. These jobs have influenced his watercolor work, which consists of many landscape and water scenes. Painter Colin Page creates the majority of his work outdoors, working from light to capture the light and atmosphere of his subject matter. For him, painting turns “an everyday scene into the poetic.” Page was selected as the People’s Choice Award winner for last year’s Door County Plein Air Festival. Sculpture artist Gene Reineking cuts, grinds, and polishes stylized birds and mammals using beautifully figured wood burls from America’s West – with his artistic goal being to share his thoughts and feelings about the beauty of our natural world.
