Fine Line To Host Townline Art Fair

Townline Art Fair goers from years past enjoy the variety of art on display from the more than 60 artists who set up for the juried show every year. This year marks 41 years since the fair was started at a farm on Townline Road. Submitted photo.

The lawn at Fine Line Designs Gallery will be filled with art and artisans as the gallery hosts the 41st annual Townline Art Fair on Oct. 11-12.

More than 60 artists representing all media are scheduled to exhibit during the two-day show held rain or shine. At least 70 percent of the artists return each year, according to Shari Gransee, gallery owner and art fair coordinator.

“This is a very reputable and well-established art fair with a great built in clientele,” Gransee said. “One, because of the history and tenure of art fair [and] two, because of the gallery and its reputation for fine art and craft.”

Glass, pottery, metal sculpture, paintings, photography, jewelry, fiber art and wood working will be under tents for the 4,000 – 5,000 people that annually attend the show. There will also be demonstrations in fiber, pottery and glass.

The original art fair started at a farm 40 years ago on Townline Road. Fine Line Designs Gallery has continued the tradition for the past 32 years.

“It’s an opportunity to meet professional artists from across the Midwest and discuss and purchase their works in a festive atmosphere celebrating the fall colors,” said Gransee.

Admission and on-site parking are free. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

Show hours are 10 am – 5 pm on Saturday and 10 am – 4 pm on Sunday. Guests should enter on Highway 42 just north of Ephraim at Fine Line Designs Gallery. For more information, contact the gallery at 920.854.4343.
