Fine Line’s ‘Exhibit I’ Features Glass, Paintings, Fiber

Fine Line Designs Gallery (finelinedesignsgallery.com) will open Exhibit I on May 24, with an artist reception on May 25, 4-7 pm, featuring glass artist Wesley J. Hunting, painters Liz Maltman and Shelby Keefe, and fiber artist Martha Fieber. Keefe will be on-site May 26, 11 am – 2 pm, for a demonstration.

Hunting’s career in glass began with a chance encounter while working at a summer job at a Kent, Ohio, historical village. These days, he works alongside his son.

The themes for Maltman’s art are woods and water. She uses acrylics for the wood and pastels for the water, and throughout her work, her bright, innovative use of color, technique and pattern is apparent.

Fieber creates “landscapes in thread”: layer upon layer of hand-stitching,  subtle color and intricate details blend to create her complex compositions.

Keefe’s biggest passions are drawing and depicting her subjects with honesty and expressiveness. She tackles complex subjects such as cityscapes and human figures and renders them with the alla prima paint technique.

Fine Line’s Exhibit I will run through July 8; Exhibit II will begin July 11.
