Fire Chief Chris Hecht Briefs Service Club

Sister Bay & Liberty Grove Fire Chief Chris Hecht stressed community cooperation and personnel needs at a meeting, sponsored by the Ellison Bay Service Club, on Nov. 15 at the Clearing Folk School in Ellison Bay.

“Our most valuable resource is manpower, and we are looking for new members,” Chief Hecht said at the beginning of his briefing.

In addition to volunteering and installing smoke detectors, Hecht listed other ways the public can help the department.

“Most important, make sure your address and fire numbers are correct on your green lot markers,” Chief Hecht said. “Secondly, make sure that access roads and drives are accessible by emergency vehicles. We can’t help you if we can’t get to you.”
