First 2016 Christmas Tree ‘Planted’ in Ellison Bay

On Saturday, November 5th, the holiday season began with the “transplanting” of Northern Door’s first community Christmas tree in the hamlet of Ellison Bay. As in years past, the 22-foot spruce was donated by Paul and Lynn Hass of Ellison Bay. And as usual, a hardy troop of Ellison Bay “lumberjacks” did the tree felling and planting.

The traditional Ellison Bay tree lighting celebration will be held at 5 pm on Nov. 13, followed by a chili supper at the nearby Mink River Basin Supper Club. It’s free to all comers, who are asked to bring donations of canned goods for area food pantries.

The event is co-sponsored by the Ellison Bay Service Club, the Mink River Basin Supper Club, Nicolet Bank (Ellison Bay) and the Door County North business association.
