Club Holds Day of Mending

The Harborettes Club of Egg Harbor/Fish Creek (a Home and Community Education group) held its first “Day of Mending” in the Jacksonport Town Hall on April 8, inviting the community to bring clothing in need of a little TLC to this civic-minded club to repair free of charge.

The club hemmed pants, mended jeans and t-shirts, and even made a new pillowcase for a special bed pillow. The group created 17 book bags for its Wisconsin Bookworms program, which provides children with a free book bag and set of books that are read to them each month by a Home and Community Education volunteer.
