First Meeting of the Season

Formatting artwork for online submission and for print media will be the focus of the Door County Art League’s first member meeting of the year, April 27 at the Bertschinger Community Center in Egg Harbor.

David Skidmore will present “Submitting Copy to Newspapers and Periodicals for Publicity,” outlining the steps to drafting effective press releases and formatting images to meet the requirements for newspapers, magazines and other print media. Skidmore is an award-winning photographer and digital designer with 20 years experience as the former editor and press officer for the Episcopal Diocese of Chicago.

Heidi Atanasov will present “Submitting Work Online to a Juried Show,” highlighting information particular for meeting entry requirements when submitting entries for juried events and other exhibit opportunities. Atanasov is an award-winning photographer, and owner/operator of the 2-For-U Gallery in Fish Creek.

The public is welcome to attend the meeting which begins at 7 pm. The Door County Art League is a not-for-profit organization. Membership is open to all artists and anybody who wishes to support the visual arts in Door County. More information is available at doorcountyartleague.org.
