First of the Door Concert Season

Hans Christian

Hans Christian will open the 2014-15 Door Concerts Season on Sept. 20 at 7 pm at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay.

Christian is ranked worldwide as a composer and musician. He is a maker, one who creates and assembles his own and other artists’ work in a number of unusual ways. He might also be branded a time traveler, in that he ventures back to explore ancient musical traditions, playing many antiquated instruments from around the world, and yet couples all of that tradition with a thoroughly contemporary knowledge of complex electronic media – a master of digital arts, computers, studio recording techniques and live performance technology. At times, he sounds like an East Indian deep within a raga, shifting to a medieval court musician or a classical cellist crossing gracefully into the realm of futuristic electronica.

His versatility as a performer, recording artist, and producer for more than 25 years has created a legacy of concerts and recordings that touch people’s hearts around the world.

Tickets are $15 at the door. St. Peter’s Lutheran Church is located at 108 W. Maple Street in Sturgeon Bay.

This season-opener will be followed by the Wingra Woodwind Quintet on Oct. 24, the Wisconsin Brass Quintet on Nov. 16, the Pro Arte Quartet on Jan. 29, Tammy Naze with Beth Chafey-Hon on Feb. 22 and the Johannes Wallmann Jazz Ensemble on April 10. Door Concerts, Inc. provides an affordable opportunity to attend all six concerts in the 2014-15 series for $50 for individuals and $125 for families, free for children and music students.
