Fish Creek Athlete Excels at Soccer

Devan Schultz of Fish Creek recently won the U-18 Wisconsin Youth Soccer State Cup Championship with her team ASC-FC GB.

Devan Schultz, daughter of Scott and Kathy Schultz of Fish Creek, is a member of the U-18 Wisconsin Youth Soccer State Cup Championship team, ASC-FC GB.

Schultz and her team earned the title on October 2 at JJ Keller Field on the UW – Oshkosh campus. The team, coached by FC Green Bay Technical Coordinator Quinn Ross, won the final match 5-2 against a FC United team from Kenosha. ASC-FC GB is comprised of young women from the Appleton Soccer Club and FC Green Bay Club. The players competed against the best teams in the state to earn the title and will now represent Wisconsin in the US Youth Soccer Regional Championships next June in Saginaw, Michigan.

Schultz also represented the state of Wisconsin in July at the US Youth Soccer’s Region II Olympic Development Program (ODP) soccer tournament and camp at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Ill. Schultz was identified through US Youth Soccer’s ODP state pool and trained in Madison twice a month throughout the winter.

This September, Schultz entered her senior year at Gibraltar High School where she has earned recognition as a Three Season Athlete. She was co-captain and team MVP for the Sevastopol-Gibraltar girl’s soccer team and was named to the All-Packerland Conference First-Team and All-Area Team Honorable Mention for the past two years. She has made a verbal commitment to play soccer at UW – Green Bay in the fall of 2012.
