Fish Creek to Host Inaugural “Art After Dark” Event

In order to showcase the town’s nightlife, culinary scene, arts, culture and retail options, the Fish Creek Civic Association (FCCA) has begun preparations for their newest event, Art After Dark. The event will run July 27-30.

Local businesses, including galleries, retail and restaurants, will participate by offering demonstrations with local artists, trunk shows, meet-the-artisan events, and culinary tastings and specials. Businesses will also have extended evening hours.

According to FCCA President Bob Spielman, “Fish Creek is unique because of the walkability of our downtown but also the concentration of arts and creative businesses. This event is a great opportunity for visitors to explore all that Fish Creek has to offer.”

Art After Dark is being held in conjunction with Door County Plein Air Festival’s Sunset & Nocturne Paint Out, part of the weeklong festival presented by Peninsula School of Art. On July 27, beginning at 6 pm, 40 featured artists from across the country will gather to paint in Fish Creek’s Clark Park and the downtown area. Visitors can watch the artists capture their favorite Fish Creek scenes on canvas and view the finished works at the tent in Clark Park after 8 pm.
