Fish Creek Seeks Parade Participants, Fruit Loop Runners

Door County residents and visitors can bask in 15 minutes of fame in the Fish Creek Winter Festival Parade on February 4. Participants of all kind are encouraged and welcome to join in the annual festive winter parade: individuals, businesses, walkers, animals, cars, and floats. The parade is short and fun – it will begin at the Fish Creek Town Center and run down Main Street. All those interested should show up at the parking behind the post office/library 20 minutes prior to the 10:30 am start.

The wearied Winter Festival revelers are all welcome to participate in the third annual Fish Creek Fruit Loop on Feb. 5. Costumes are highly encouraged in this fun run that follows a half-mile trek through downtown Fish Creek. Touted as a 1/53rd marathon, this scenic jaunt will begin and end at the tent in Clark Park. A post-race gathering will be held inside the tent, complete with a breakfast of Froot Loops and the heralded Olympic-style awards ceremony. Directly after the awards ceremony, the winner of the Winter Festival grand prize of $2,500 will be drawn.

The race will begins at 10:30 am and participants are encouraged to show up 15 minutes prior to the start. The Fruit Loop is free and open to adults and kids of all ages.
