Fish Creek Waterfront Parking Lot to Split in Half

From Memorial Day to Labor Day 2023, the waterfront parking lot alongside Fish Creek’s town dock will be split in half.

The west-side half will be used as public parking, while the east-side half will be available by permit only. Several concrete barriers along the center of the lot will separate the two halves, and signage will designate the two sides.

Last season, the lot was used for permit parking only, which created a lot that was often empty, parking tickets for people using the empty lot, and complaints from residents, tourists and business owners who used to park there. That’s why the Town of Gibraltar opened up the lot for public use in September, then approved to split it in half for the boating season with a 3-2 vote during a March 1 board meeting.
