Five-Course Progressive Dinners Held at White Gull and Thorp House Inn

The 21st Annual Fish Creek Holiday Progressive Dinners return for the 2016-17 winter season.

“A Movable Feast” is the best way to describe these gourmet dinners, which begin at one of Fish Creek’s historic inns, then moves to a second inn for the main course and dessert. The Progressive Holiday Dinner Weekends are hosted by the White Gull and Thorp House Inns. Three are scheduled for Dec. 2016: the weekends of Dec. 2 & 3, 9 & 10, and 16 & 17. A fourth Holiday Progressive Dinner Weekend is scheduled for Jan. 6 & 7. The Thorp House and White Gull are planning memorable weekend packages, culminating Saturday evening in a five-course dinner complete with wine and live music, and a tour of the two inns bedecked festively for the holiday season.

Dinners begin at 5:30 pm, with hors d’oeuvres at the Thorp House Inn, built in 1902 by Freeman Thorp, of the founding family of Fish Creek. Innkeeper Melanie Camp and her staff will be on hand to relate the history of the Thorp House, and serve the appetizers, as a guitarist plays seasonal music.

Dinner guests will then be transported to the White Gull Inn by a horse-drawn wagon past the many homes and businesses decorated for the holidays. Innkeepers Andy and Jan Coulson and their staff will conduct tours and discuss the inn’s history before serving the soup, entrée, salad and dessert courses. Live music featuring seasonal favorites will be featured at each inn. Afterwards, gather around our bonfire with cups of hot cider for caroling.

The Progressive Dinners are open to weekend guests of either the White Gull or Thorp House Inn. For reservations and other information, contact the White Gull Inn (920.868.3517, whitegullinn.com) or Thorp House Inn (920.868.2444, thorphouseinn.com).
