The County of Door Highway and Facilities Committee voted 5-2, Sept. 13, to send a resolution creating a flag policy to the County Board of Supervisors.
The resolution, requested last month by District 9 Supervisor Dan Austad, who represents wards within the City of Sturgeon Bay, would allow three types of flags to be flown at county sites – the U.S., Wisconsin and Door County flags – with POW-MIA flags allowed to be flown beneath the U.S. flag, and military service flags allowed independently on flag poles at a veteran, military service or similar memorial.
The full county board will consider the resolution at its Sept. 26 meeting.
