Flanigan Distributing Partners With von Stiehl Winery

Starting this February, Flanigan Distributing of Door County will distribute and sell award-winning local wines and cider from von Stiehl Winery of Algoma. With a historical building dating back to the late 1860s, von Stiehl is Wisconsin’s oldest licensed winery. It also owns and operates Door County’s oldest commercial vineyard, the Stony Creek Vineyard in southern Door County.

von Stiehl co-owners and brothers Aric and Brad Schmiling are excited about the partnership with Flanigan Distributing.

“Having a strong local presence is important to us,” said Brad Schmiling. “We believe in the Buy Local movement, and we source as much local produce as possible for our operations. Our cherries come from Seaquist Orchards of Northern Door, and we have been making our ciders with apples from Hillside Orchards near Luxemburg. Plus, we have our own vineyard in Southern Door.”

The winery has a retail store where customers can sample numerous wines, and they can tour the historical building where it all began. Visit vonStiehl.com for directions and hours.
