Floating Concert at Crossroads Aug. 28

Kayakers and paddleboard enthusiasts won’t want to miss a floating concert Aug. 28, 12-2 pm, on the waters of Sturgeon Bay when the Appleton-based band Feed the Dog – a high-energy, jam-rock-grass group – performs live from a pontoon boat.

The event will begin at the Crossroads at Big Creek kayak launch at The Cove Preserve, then take paddlers through the Big Creek estuary into Sturgeon Bay. Volunteers will help with craft unloading and parking beginning at 11 am.

All proceeds will go to Crossroads at Big Creek and SnowKraft Nordic to help preserve Door County’s beauty and natural environment.

Advance registration is required. Tickets are $25 for those with their own watercraft (no motors allowed) and $50 for those who are renting. Bay Shore Outdoor Store will have a limited number of kayaks and paddleboards available by advance arrangement. To buy tickets and make rental arrangements, visit kayakconcert.eventbrite.com. The event is weather dependent, so in case of cancellation, ticket holders may request a pass to attend the event for free next year.

Participants should provide their own food, water and other beverages. Find out more from Adam Peronto at [email protected] or 920.362.6234.
