Floating Concert to Benefit Area Nonprofits

Kayakers and paddleboard enthusiasts are invited to take to the waters of Sturgeon Bay for a floating concert Aug. 27, 12-2 pm. Buffalo Galaxy, a popular, Minneapolis-based bluegrass band, will perform live from a pontoon boat as participants paddle along.

The event will start at the Otumba Park beach and launch area, 212 W. Locust Court in Sturgeon Bay, and the route will take paddlers along the shore of Sturgeon Bay, past Dunlap Reef and up to Bullhead Point. Volunteers will be on hand to help with craft unloading and parking beginning at 11 am. 

Advance registration is required. Tickets are $25 for those who supply their own watercraft (no motors are allowed) and $50 for those who rent watercraft. A limited number of kayaks and paddleboards will be available from Bay Shore Outfitters by advance arrangement. Purchase tickets and make rental arrangements at kayakconcert2022.eventbrite.com. In case of cancellation of this weather-dependent event, ticket holders may request a pass to attend next year’s event for free. 

Food and beverages are not provided, so participants are encouraged to take their own. All trash is “pack in and pack out.”
