  • Cheers!: Let’s Go Get Stoned!

Hey, Mike, thanks for the Mocha IPA from Stone Brewing of San Diego. Mike left two bottles of this particular beer in the office recently while I was out somewhere. Don’t think I know Mike, but, wow, what a nice gesture! I used to have a great connection with Stone Brewing before you could find […]

  • Cheers!: Tripel Threat

Coming home from work one recent muggy day, I reached deep into the magic fridge and pulled out a can of Wooden Rooster, a rye whiskey barrel-aged Belgian-style tripel ale from Tallgrass Brewing of Manhattan, Kansas. Tallgrass is the maker of Buffalo Sweat, a beer I won’t drink because of the name, along with Moose […]

  • Cheers!: Down the Rabbit Hole

  • Cheers!: How Tangerines Helped Deflect a Tent Full of Winey Poets

At a recent beer brunch to kick off an afternoon beer festival, my brain was shanghaied by an incredible imperial stout brewed with Mexican spices, which I will get to in another column. But it was because of that amazing beer that I sort of glossed over the opener in the barrage of brunch beers, […]

  • Hinterland Brewery Moving Next to Lambeau Field

Hinterland, according to Merriam Webster, means “a region remote from urban areas.” When Bill and Michelle Tressler started brewing beer in an old cheese factory outside of Tressler’s hometown of Green Bay in 1995, Hinterland was the name they chose for their brewery, and it certainly seemed appropriate at the time. But when you are […]
