Food Art

“Best Glass of Tomatoes” by Thomas J. Jordan.

In 2015 the Miller Art Museum (MAM) celebrates its 40th birthday with an open call for entries for artists to participate in a special themed exhibit titled “Celebrating 40 With Festive Art About Food” from Jan. 17 to March 3. The museum hopes artists will find the theme stimulating and fun to be inspired to create a piece for the exhibit and community celebration.

Works may be created in the artist’s choice of media. One piece per artist is allowed for anyone 18 or older. (The entry fee is one non-perishable item that will be donated to Feed My People).

The maximum size limit is 24” x 24” x 24” as it is expected many artists will enter. Artwork must be ready for hanging. Works may or may not be for sale. The MAM collects a 35 percent commission on artwork sold.

A People’s Choice Award for the Most Delicious Looking piece will be given at the opening reception on Jan. 17, 3 – 4:30 pm. Artists wishing to enter can pick up an entry form at the Miller Art Museum or library branches, download the form at millerartmuseum.org, or call 920.746.0707.

The deadline to enter is Dec. 1. Delivery of artwork is from Dec. 15 – 20. For more information call 920.746.0707 or email curator Deborah Rosenthal at [email protected].
