Food, Inc. Next in UU Movies That Matter Series

The Oscar-nominated documentary Food, Inc. will be shown Tuesday, March 16 at 7 pm at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Ephraim.

The film examines large-scale agricultural food production in the U.S. and the hidden costs associated with producing meat and vegetables this way. The film is narrated by Michael Pollan (author of The Omnivore’s Dilemma) and Eric Schlosser, two long-time critics of the industrial production of food.

The film examines the industrial production of meat, grains and vegetables and the economic and environmental impacts it has. It also digs into the legal and economic power the major food companies wield to the detriment of consumers and the planet.

The UU Fellowship sponsors the Movies That Matter series on the third Tuesday of each month. The films are intended to provide education and discussion on significant social issues. The free screenings are open to the public. The UU Fellowship is located at 10341 Hwy. 42, Ephraim. For more information, visit http://www.uufdc.org.
