Door County Food Truckin’

Spring has officially sprung in Door County, which means that local food trucks are getting ready to take to the roads. Below are just a few of the trucks that’ll be traversing the peninsula this summer. Be sure to check out their social-media pages before you plan a visit because their schedules may change.

STURGEON BAY

Carjacks Patty Wagon

What it serves: American classics such as smash burgers, grilled cheese, milkshakes and cheese curds. A new breakfast menu is rolling out soon. 

Where and when: Various locations throughout Sturgeon Bay, Little Sturgeon and Algoma. Visit the wagon’s Facebook page to stay updated on where the truck will be, and when.

Jolly’s Street Pizza

What it serves: Full pizzas and breadsticks

Where: 835 Egg Harbor Road, in front of The Wine Cellar

When: Thursday-Saturday, 4-8 pm

Mauricio’s

What it serves: Authentic Mexican food: fresh guacamole and salsa to start, then tacos and quesadillas for the main event, and tres leches and flan to top it all off

Where: 63 E. Maple St., next to Cellcom

When: Monday-Saturday, 11 am – 7 pm; Sunday, 11 am – 6 pm. The truck will be operating from May 5 until the end of October.

Papa B’s 

What it serves: American fare, including cheesesteaks, wraps, salads and nine breakfast wraps served all day. The truck also features a special international dish every week.

Where: The lower parking lot of the Holiday Music Motel, 30 N. 1st Ave.

When: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 8 am – 6 pm; Sunday, 8 am – 1 pm. The truck will be operating May 17 – Oct. 14.

NORTHERN DOOR

Backbone

What it serves: Schnitzel sandwiches, loaded fries and handmade sausages, including classic brats, lamb merguez, Thai herb, wild game and chicken apple

Where: Nicolet Beach in Peninsula State Park, 9462 Shore Road in Fish Creek. The truck sets up shop across from the bike and kayak rentals.

When: Monday-Thursday, 12-4 pm; Friday-Sunday, 11 am – 6 pm. The truck will operate May 24 – Oct. 1. 

Chives’ Food Truck Court

What it serves: Chives actually has three food trucks. Morning Glory offers diner-style breakfast fare; Harbor Pizza serves gourmet pizzas; and Grill and Griddle is the place to get farm-to-table burgers, sandwiches and sides. 

Where: All trucks operate outside Chives’ brick-and-mortar location at 8041 Hwy 57 in Baileys Harbor.

When: Chives’ trucks are open every day, Memorial Day to Labor Day. Morning Glory is open 7 am – 1 pm; Harbor Pizza and Grill and Griddle are open 11 am – 8 pm. Beer, wine and specialty cocktails are served starting at 11 am.

The Jamaican Door 

What it serves: Jerk chicken and rotating specials including vegan bowls, curry goat and Jamaican beef patties. Jamaican Door also offers an island-inspired drink menu and a new beer collaboration with Bridge Up Brewing: a Jamaican sorrel lager called From Jamaica with Love.

Where: Outside the Cornerstone Pub, 8123 Hwy 57 in Baileys Harbor

When: Wednesday-Sunday, 12-8 pm. The truck will operate May 27 – Sept. 24.

Sergio’s

What it serves: Mexican street food, from tacos to tortas to burritos to elote 

Where and when: Sergio’s food truck will take to the roads in June and set up on these days in these spots: 

  • Monday, 8 am – 2 pm, at Peninsula State Park Golf Course, 9890 Shore Road in Ephraim; then 4-7 pm at the Red Putter, 10404 Hwy 42 in Ephraim 
  • Tuesday, 8 am – 2 pm, at Peninsula State Park Golf Course; then 4-7 pm at Evergreen Miniature Golf, 3865 Hwy 42 in Fish Creek
  • Wednesday, 8 am – 8 pm, at Peninsula State Park Golf Course • Thursday, 8 am – 2 pm, at Peninsula State Park Golf Course
  • Friday and Saturday, 8 am – 2 pm, at Peninsula State Park Golf Course.

Wally’s Weenie Wagon

What it serves: Decked-out Chicago-style hot dogs and Greek fare such as gyros, kebabs, baklava and Greek nachos

Where: In Baileys Harbor between the Cornerstone Pub, 8123 Hwy 57, and the Candy Bar, 8113 Hwy 57

When: Thursday-Monday, 11 am – 6 pm. Check the wagon’s business Facebook page or Instagram for schedule changes. Wally’s will operate until sometime in October, depending on the weather.

ALL OVER THE DOOR

Great Lakes BBQ Company

What it serves: Award-winning, in-house–smoked meats with all the go-withs, such as cornbread, baked beans, and mac ’n’ cheese

Where and when: Great Lakes BBQ is not setting up shop in Sister Bay this summer, but it will have pop-up events that will be publicized on social media. Stay up to date by following the truck on Instagram or Facebook.

Savor Barbeque

What it serves: Small-batch barbecue brisket, ribs and pulled pork, alongside loaded mac ’n’ cheese and nachos

Where and when: One truck operates Monday-Saturday, 11 am – 6 pm; Sunday, 11 am – 2 pm, at the Door Peninsula Winery, 5806 Hwy 42 in Sturgeon Bay. Another operates Monday-Saturday, 11 am – 5 pm, at Seaquist Orchards Farm Market, 11482 Hwy 42 in Sister Bay.
