Football Eagles Beat Bears, Remain Unbeaten

Southern Door remains one of only two undefeated football teams in the Packerland Conference this season after the Eagles won their league game Friday at Bonduel, 34-14.

Zack Lynch, who ended up with four rushing touchdowns for the game, gave Southern Door a 12-0 lead at halftime after running into the end zone from a yard and 28 yards away.

Lynch, who ran for 209 yards on 25 carries, added second-half rushing touchdowns of 48 and 24 yards.

Mason Motquin scored the Eagles’ other touchdown by intercepting a Bears pass 47 yards for a pick-six.

Southern Door quarterback Drew Daoust, who completed only five of 10 passes for 35 yards with an interception, ended up rushing for 104 yards on eight carries.

The Eagles outgained Bonduel in total offense, 369-293 yards.

Up next for Southern Door, which improved to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the conference, will be a home league game Sept. 15 against Marinette.

Clippers Sail Past Marinette

The game was tied 13-13 at halftime before a 34-yard field goal kicked by Eli Schuster and a seven-yard touchdown pass thrown by Danny Lodl gave Sturgeon Bay its margin of victory.
