For Art’s Sake

Giraffe carving by Don Brink.

Loraine and Don Brink have been making art for most of their adult lives. Their creative statements have been in most traditional art forms and media but the commonality is that all creations were made for art’s sake first.

The Meadows Art Gallery at Scandia Village in Sister Bay is proud to display part of this effort to display the Brinks’ artwork that hasn’t been publicly displayed before.

Loraine is a quilter, sculptor, poet and potter. Don is a sculptor, storyteller, painter and photographer. The show features Loraine’s poetry and quilts, and Don’s paintings and carvings.

The Brinks recently published a book, Lives Long Lived, which will be available during the show. This exhibit runs through February, with a reception scheduled for Feb. 8. A second show of the Brinks’ work is also in the works for February 2015.

The Meadows Gallery is located at Scandia Village in Sister Bay, and is open from 10 am – 5 pm daily.
