For the first time in English Inn history, the restaurant will be open on Christmas Day. Owners Randy and Lisa Daubner welcome guests for the first time to celebrate Christmas with their English Inn family. They will be serving their full menu of over 60 entrees on Friday, December 25 from noon – 10 pm. Jason Mann Photography, specializing in portraiture and weddings, and 1 Design Source, a graphic design firm specializing in advertising collateral, logo development, and web design, moved their studio and office from 58 West Maple Street to a Victorian-style home on 132 West Maple Street on the west side of Sturgeon Bay. The first floor will house office and studio space while the upstairs will be family space.

 

 

“We’re excited to find a location that fits the needs of our businesses and our young family,” said Morgan Mann, design firm owner. “This way we’ll be able to turn the ‘Open’ sign over more often and be even more accessible to our clients.”

 

 

Jason and Morgan have over two decades of experience between them and relocated their businesses from the Denver, CO in 2006. They live with their two sons and their dog.

The Door County Economic Development Corporation (DCEDC) reminds new and existing business owners that the organization continues to offer monthly office hours in Northern Door County, providing business counseling and entrepreneurial services.

 

 

DCEDC Economic Development Manager Sam Perlman offers free, one-on-one business counseling sessions, providing advice on business planning, financing, business incentives and other issues. As a member of the Wisconsin Entrepreneurs’ Network, DCEDC also has the ability to tap into the expertise of the statewide support network to help find solutions to business issues and questions.

 

 

Individual, confidential sessions will be held Tuesday, December 15, from 8 am – noon in the Sister Bay Fire Station small meeting room, 2258 Mill Road. Gibraltar DECA members recently competed in a national online business simulation, Virtual Business-Retailing. These local business students took the top 9 places in the state of Wisconsin, as well as placed ninth, 10th, and 15th through 18th in the Central Region out of 292 teams. Nationally, Gibraltar’s number one and two teams took 56th and 84th out of 1,216 teams.

 

 

In this Convenience Store Retail Operation Simulation, students controlled purchasing, advertising, equipment purchases and physical inventory.

; 6th Place – Next Monday, Dillon Daubner and Matt Thoma.

 

 

Students in the Entrepreneurship, Business Management, Marketing and Accounting classes will compete in Round 2 at the end of January. Gibraltar DECA Members are also gearing up for the Face to Face with Business Executives District Competition in January. In Kimberly, they will compete in Sports Marketing, Buying and Merchandising, Accounting, and Financial Analysis. Pack and Ship Plus of Sturgeon Bay has announced that starting December 7, they will have extended hours to meet the demands of the busy holiday ship season. They will be open Monday through Friday 8:30 am – 5 pm and Saturday 9 am – noon.

 

 

They want customers to know that the last day for ground shipping, guaranteed to arrive by Christmas, is Wednesday, December 16, while the final day for Express shipping is Tuesday, December 22.

The Egg Harbor Business Association Board of Directors recently elected new officers, including naming Karen Peterson its president, effective for a one-year term. Peterson is a retailer and business leader from the Village of Egg Harbor. Peterson and her husband own and operate Maxwell House in Egg Harbor. Peterson is returning for a second term as president of the organization.

 

 

The eight-member Board of Directors elected Jeff Larson as its vice president. Larson has been with the Landmark Resort for four years as Director of Marketing & Sales. Larson has more than 25 years experience in marketing. He and his wife Linda live in Green Bay.

 

 

The Board elected Deb Merkle-Schubert as treasurer. Merkle-Schubert is the Financial Center Manager for Baylake Bank in Egg Harbor. She is a fourth-generation Door County native, and has been affiliated with Baylake Bank for more than 23 years.

 

 

Also elected an officer by the Board was Mary Anne Scherer. Scherer was re-elected as secretary. She and her husband Clarence operate A Decorator’s Gallery in Egg Harbor.
