“For the Love of Door County” Opens

The new Gallery at Domicile in Sister Bay will celebrate the opening of the exhibit, “For the Love of Door County,” with a reception and introduction of featured artists on Saturday, July 25.

The public is invited to view the exhibit where almost a dozen artists have expressed their love for Door County and all it has to offer – from lighthouses to Trillium, seascapes to barnscapes, and park pathways to familiar landmarks. Throughout the day, artists will offer demonstrations and examples of their own particular expressions of affection for Door County. Local artists Jane Kayser, Judy Rheberg and Sue Vineyard will be on hand to welcome visitors.

Other featured artists in the exhibit include Ann Baer, Carolyn Kenney-Carter, Susan Kennelly, and Dave Wilkinson. Painting, pen and ink, sculpture, ceramics, stained glass, Batik, landmark drawings and more are just some of the media used by artists. All of the artist are from Door County or Wisconsin and offer originals at reasonable prices in the amazing setting of a restored century old granary.

Everyone is also encouraged to mark their calendars and plan to attend the 21st annual Art Fair at Domicile, Friday, August 7, and Saturday, August 8. Meet many of the artists and craftsmen and women who produce the art and fine crafts available at Domicile. See expanded inventories of the works and watch the many demonstrations that will take place during fair hours, 10 am – 5 pm.

“For the Love of Door County” will run from July 23 to September 6.
