Join the Climate Change Coalition of Door County for a hike on Aug. 26, 1-3 pm, at Peninsula State Park, beginning at Eagle Tower.
Lee Frelich, director of the University of Minnesota Center for Forest Ecology, will lead the moderate hike and focus on the local forest ecology, the climate-change response among native trees, and the impacts of deer and worms. Frelich is a globally known forest ecologist with experience in Door County’s woods and wild lands.
Good hiking shoes, water and insect repellent are recommended, and park vehicle stickers are required. The cost is $50 per person, and the hike is limited to 20 participants. Registration is required by Aug. 19 at climatechangedoorcounty.com/educational-events. Visit climatechangedoorcounty.com to learn more.
