“Flat Stanley,” from Shawnee Mission, Kansas will be visiting the Forestville Branch of the Door County Library for the Stories and Fun session at 9:30 am on Friday, Feb. 25. Along with the telling of lady bug stories, books about “Flat Stanley” will be read and photos will be taken.
For this Wisconsin Adventure, Flat Stanley was mailed by Brinna Russell to her grandmother, Barb Husch, who works at the Forestville Library. In books about him, the original Stanley was flattened by a bulletin board. He didn’t get hurt, but now he measures four feet tall, a foot wide and a half-inch thick! In his book adventures he gets mailed various places, can slip under closed doors and even flies like a kite. Children of the area are invited to meet this Kansas version of Flat Stanley and make suggestions of places he should be photographed that will illustrate what is special about Door County.
Stories and Fun is a weekly program for young children and their families. All are welcome. For more information call the Forestville Library at 920.856.6886.
