“Forks Over Knives” Opens Green Door Film Society Series

Dr. T. Colin Campbell and Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn Jr.’s research not only convinced former president Bill Clinton to treat his heart disease in a new way, but it also led to the production of a life-changing documentary film, Forks Over Knives, which will be screened at the first of this season’s meetings of the Green Door Film Society on Nov. 17 at Greens N Grains.

Forks Over Knives examines the profound claim that most, if not all, of the degenerative diseases that afflict Americans can be controlled, or even reversed, by rejecting animal-based and processed foods. The major storyline traces the personal journeys of Campbell, a nutritional scientist from Cornell University, and Esselstyn Jr., a former top surgeon at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic. Inspired by remarkable discoveries in their young careers, these men conducted several groundbreaking studies, and their separate research led them to the same startling conclusion.

In addition, cameras follow real-life patients who have chronic conditions from heart disease to Diabetes.

Greens N Grains Deli will host a natural and organic dinner special for $7.50 beginning at 6 pm. The screenings will begin at 7 pm. There is no charge, but seating at is limited to 30 people. Reservations are requested.
