Free Comics at OtherWorlds May 7

Free Comic Book Day is coming up May 7, and OtherWorlds Books & More, 41 N. 3rd Ave. in Sturgeon Bay, will have 30-plus comics titles – for children, teens and mature readers – available. To ensure that everyone has a chance to receive these comics, OtherWorlds will limit the titles to three per person.

Every year, comic creators write and illustrate issues made especially for this event. Expect superheroes such as Spiderman and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, TV personalities such as Doctor Who, the kids from Stranger Things and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, plus Sonic the Hedgehog and Pokémon.

Anyone who dresses in costume will be entered into a drawing for a store gift certificate and other prizes, and there will be a table of comics available for $1-$3.

Christian comic book creator Joel Kornowski will visit 10 am – 2 pm to talk about and sign his comic, Warriors of the Word, and its companion activity book.
