Free, Family-Friendly Composting Class

The Door County Seed Library is offering a free Let’s Get Composting class on July 20, 12-1 pm, at the Sturgeon Bay Library. Door County native and composting expert Lora Jorgensen will teach this family-friendly class, which will cover the benefits of composting, offer handouts and practical advice on getting started, and show samples of finished compost.

“Composting kitchen waste and yard debris is easy to do, requires little time and effort, and produces a complete and natural food for the soil,” Jorgensen said. “When you compost leftover food scraps and plant materials, you divert organics from landfills and create a nutrient-rich soil amendment that is great for your garden.”
